The Foundation of
Administrative Justice


Overview


The Foundation of Administrative Justice is a non-profit society offering training for tribunal members and staff. Tribunals include federal, provincial and municipal government boards, agencies, committees and commissions; educational institution appeal bodies and committees; professional disciplinary committees.

  • They offer the only comprehensive training for members, prospective members and staff of quasi-judicial boards and commissions in western and northern Canada.
  • The Foundation operates on a non-profit basis and therefore the cost of courses is very favourable in comparison to other course offerings.
  • They have Alberta, Saskatchewan, Northwest Territories based instructors with experience in their administrative justice systems.
  • Courses are offered on a regular basis throughout the year to provide maximum flexibility for tribunals with newly appointed members.
  • They have three (3) categories of membership to meet every size of organization and individual need.

Certificate in Tribunal Administrative Justice (CTAJ)

A first in Canada, this certificate will assist tribunals and participants to evaluate and support competencies in administrative justice roles. There are three (3) streams to the certificate. Participants can select the stream that best matches their role or career path.

  1. Tribunal Member (for the appointed or elected board member and decision makers)
  2. Administrator (for staff and other support personnel)
  3. Advocate (for clients, presenters and counsel)
